Surrey County Council offers £10,000 grant for e-electric Citroen vans

Surrey County Council are offering a completely unique grant to enable business to own an all-electric Citroen van for up to £10,000 less than retail. As part of the Electric Towns and Cities Initiative (ETCI), Guildford (Surrey County Council) are offering grants on a first-come, first-served basis for new registration electric commercials through Charters.

How many grants are available?

Eligible businesses can apply for up to 10 vehicles and claim a grant for each of them. That’s a £5,000 grant for e-Berlingo and £10,000 grant for both e-Dispatch and e-Relay, giving a potential saving of up to £100,000 if renewing your entire fleet.

Is my business eligible for the ETCI grants?

It’s incredibly easy to establish whether your business is eligible for these local grants. Each business must abide by the following criteria:

1. MUST do a minimum of 150 single journeys per year on the A3 (between the A31 Junction to Farnham and the Guildford university junction). The map below details the area.
2. MUST operate a DIESEL light commercial vehicle (N1 Vehicle), owned for at least one year.
3. Be a business or charity operating anywhere in the UK and able to provide 2 years of accounts.
4. Business to have received less than £315,000 in subsidies in the last 3 years.
5. Agree for Telematics to be fitted to monitor journeys on the A3 only.
6. Continue to own and drive the new electric vehicle on the A3 between the A31 junction to Farnham and the Guildford university junction for a minimum of 150 single journeys per year for 2 years. If this is not achieved, they may be asked to pay back the grant.
